Prof. Atilla YILMAZ, MD is a Turkish stereotactic and functional neurosurgeon based in İstanbul, where he heads the Neuromodulation Center at Medicana Ataşehir International Hospital and chairs the Department of Neurosurgery at Istanbul Health and Technology University. He trained in deep brain stimulation at the University of Florida and at Umeå University, and has performed more than 800 DBS procedures for patients from more than 60 countries. He is President of the Middle-Eastern Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, sits on the boards of the WSSFN and the International Neuromodulation Society, and on the executive committee of the ESSFNNeuromodulation Society.
